Vacation 2005 was designed around the wedding of Schuyler's brother, Kenton. The wedding was June 25 in Harriman, TN, so we decided to drive and spend some time in Tennessee before the wedding and visit Schuyler grandparents in Pennsylvania after the wedding. The first picture will open in another window and shows our total trip.
Our first stop was in Blytheville, Arkansas, home of Lindsey's college roommate Kirstin and her family (including new baby Arin, born June 1!).
From Blytheville we continued on to Nashville for two nights. Our visit to Nashville included a visit to the Opryland Hotel, and the girls' favorite event of the trip, swimming in the hotel pool. (It didn't matter which pool or where. They just love to swim!) During our full day in Nashville we looked around Nashville, seeing the Parthenon (yes, Nashville has a full size replica of the Parthenon) and the Nashville Bi-Centennial Park. It was shortly after the last Nashville picture that our camera went free-falling on the 200 foot granite Tennessee map, leaving it more disabled than Schuyler's knee. Once we met Schuyler's parent's in Tennessee we borrowed their camera for the remainder of our trip.

After the wedding we headed to Oakmont, PA. But we stopped on the way near the New River Gorge Bridge in West Virginia for the night (along with Schuyler's aunts Joan and Helen and his cousin Alyssa). Alyssa, Bethany, and Caroline enjoyed playing at the hotel. The next day we stopped at the park by the bridge. Everyone went down the steps for a better view of the bridge and the gorge except Schuyler.
On the remainder of the way to Oakmont we stopped to get some pictures in the purple flowers covering the roadside, probably planted their for erosion control. We also stopping in Clarksburg and Bridgeport, WV, where Schuyler was born and lived until he was 6 years old. In the pictures are the duplex that was his first home and their house they moved to a few years later...
