Here it is the end of January and we're still trying to catch up from last month.  The year is off to a flying start...

Bethany's first bowling experience was at her friend Tanner's birthday party.  Bumper guards prevented any of the kids from making gutter balls, so the hardest part was just getting the ball down the lane to the pins!  One game took a little longer than usual, but the kids did great!

For the long weekend over the MLK holiday, Lindsey and the girls took a trip to Austin to see Oma and Ninny, Lindsey's grandmother.  The girls love going to Oma's house and Bethany even took in her first hockey game.  Go Ice Bats!  She lasted the entire game, including OT and a shootout, and even came home with a puck.

Ninny's house is always fun, too.  The girls play with her sets of dominoes and watch Aladdin over and over again.  This time, Ninny taught Bethany how to play Solitaire on the computer.  We stopped at the Dr. Pepper Museum in Waco on the way home.  The girls have a fascination with DP because they know it's Daddy's favorite drink!

Our "baby" is now 5 years old! ..and she's already been on TV - Uncle Clay arranged for birthday greetings from the local FOX station morning show.  On  her real birthday, she took a monster truck cookie cake to school for her class, and opened presents later from Grammy and PopPop.  Caroline was not very happy about having no presents to open for herself.  From Mommy and Daddy, she received a convertible "Herbie" Volkswagon New Beetle for her Barbie dolls (or whatever else she decides to put in the car.) Check out the extra page for details from her party.

Papaw and Uncle Will came for quick visits at the end of the month.  Papaw was a great help at the birthday party, and Uncle Will was just a big help entertaining the girls and giving us a break!
