Bethany talked about her racecar birthday for months leading up to the big day. Schuyler borrowed this junior dragster from a friend at work so we could have the ultimate party decoration out front, and all the kids went home with a picture in the racecar. About a dozen kids from preschool and church attended the party, including our college friends, the Hoang family (Tanner and Bethany, born only 11 days apart, have celebrated every birthday together!)
At the party, the kids first checked in and received their pit pass (nametags), then decorated a paper frame for their picture. Next, the kids were divided into teams and each team rotated between four stations. Each station featured a portion of Bethany's "transportation" toy collection (see pictures) and each child received a sticker on his/her pit pass for that station. While Daddy processed and printed pictures, the kids enjoyed racecar cake and ice cream. Then, we moved on to the "Pin the Wheel on the Monster Truck Game" (designed per Bethany's request). The kids had fun helping Bethany open her presents, leaving a little time for free play before parents arrived to pick them up.
