October has come and we are still staying busy.  In the second picture you can see Bethany and Caroline with Allie, the daughter of Julie and David, high school friends of mine that line in the area.  Besides pictures of Bethany and Caroline being cute, you can see pictures of Bethany at where we went to Run Your Trains Railroad to watch the model trains.  It was a fun day out for Bethany and I as we saw the trains and then had lunch at the local old-fashioned soda fountain.

Another train event in October was the "Day Out with Thomas" that came to Dallas.  I took the afternoon off of work and we all went down to see Thomas the Tank Engine.  Bethany had fun, but the event was over-hyped.  There were lots of people there.  But Bethany did get her first real train ride (I'm not counting airport trams as trains).

Finally, there was Halloween.  Bethany's school held a Tricycle Parade on Tuesday where the kids wore their costumes.  Bethany did not have a tricycle to ride, so I was going to pull her with Caroline in the wagon.  The "Parade" was actually a tricycle free-for-all in the gym.  Most of the other kids had tricycles or trikes, and Bethany was very upset she did not have one to ride.  So, any time she saw an empty one, she tried to steal it.  She was content briefly to pull Caroline in the wagon, and one dad finally let Bethany ride his daughter's tricycle.  Oma came up from Austin for the Halloween festivities.  On Halloween day, Bethany had a party at her school.  That evening, we attended a party at her doctor's office just down the road - the doctor in a gorilla suit only contributed to her fear of doctors.  We trick-or-treated in the neighborhood for a little while, but it was cold outside!  We then took her to a big fall festival sponsored by the church where she attends MDO.  She was pretty overwhelmed by the crowd, but she did play a few of the preschool games.  She was most interested in the "Power Wheels" game (see pic).  She just couldn't understand why she wasn't allowed to eat all of her Halloween candy that night!
